Week 1
This was my first day at my new internship. I am working at Lenz Enterprises. Today Joe and I (my boss) tried to figure out why the pin for the trailer was slipping out. After going through tests we found out the truck driver was dumping extended out and filling the pin hole and making a concrete mixture in the hole and allowing only an inch of 7 in the hole. The shaft on the brake system was bent from not being set in and drove with loads.
The same driver came back with a different truck saying she had her foot slip of the clutch. This was a big shock to the transfer case and exploded the spider gears and broke the entire transfer case in the front rear axle. We took it out and found where the grenade went off haha.
We then took off the sweeper off the sweeper truck and try to replace it. I then found the bushing was broken and had to be replaced before assembled.
Tomorrow we get out tranfer case for dump truck and also the bushing for the sweeper. Ive learned a lot on my first day and cant wait for tomorrow!

This weekend I replaced my bearings on my boat trailer because the seal was bad. Took everything completely apart and found that the grease has got hot and ran when I took it apart. Replaced the race and packed with grease. Went smooth and work perfect now they are brand new. Also found a problem with my castle nut being hard to take off so i tap n dyed the shaft and the nut for both on each side.
Last week
This week we got our final and had to choose 3 parts to look up. It took alot of time and time at home. I am learning a ton such as what different types of fluids and steps. We also had to find the greace points and found found 55. Its been a great quarter with some great people.

Week 9
This week we had our final. We needed to do a track test and other testing to find the differences and to get familiar with the machine and get a feel for it. We also checked temperature and flow in our testing. Turned in someone elses paper i guess because mine is still in my bag. Keith and i got testing done and Hans and I did the x-drive work. Will turn in sheet monday. Sorry
This week we had to choose a part and describe what the parts are and what is the purpose. We had the swivel joint for the bobcat and is fairly simple. Thanks to the "bobcat advantage" haha. I also changed my transmission fluid, filter and gasket in my 2006 dodge cummins. It went fairly fast but now that I know how to do it I think it can be done in an hour instead of the hour and half. I learned what a transmission filter does. The biggest thing i learned was the magnet at the bottom of the pan and how much stuff it collects.
