Week 1
This was my first day at my new internship. I am working at Lenz Enterprises. Today Joe and I (my boss) tried to figure out why the pin for the trailer was slipping out. After going through tests we found out the truck driver was dumping extended out and filling the pin hole and making a concrete mixture in the hole and allowing only an inch of 7 in the hole. The shaft on the brake system was bent from not being set in and drove with loads.
The same driver came back with a different truck saying she had her foot slip of the clutch. This was a big shock to the transfer case and exploded the spider gears and broke the entire transfer case in the front rear axle. We took it out and found where the grenade went off haha.
We then took off the sweeper off the sweeper truck and try to replace it. I then found the bushing was broken and had to be replaced before assembled.
Tomorrow we get out tranfer case for dump truck and also the bushing for the sweeper. Ive learned a lot on my first day and cant wait for tomorrow!
